Free for UK employers

Hire trained engineers, free

The UK is short of automation, maintenance and AI engineers. We train them and check their skills. Post jobs, search an opt-in pool of engineers with verified skills, and ask our team to shortlist for you. No listing fees, no placement fees and no subscription.

Why hire here

Evidence you can check, not a CV to take on trust

Employers say they struggle to find the skills they need. We train engineers and record what they can do, so you see skills that were measured or issued.

Certificates with verify links

Each certificate we issue has a unique number and a public verification page, so you can confirm it in seconds.

Lab and job simulation evidence

Candidates practise on the EDWartens Lab and in job simulations set in UK workplaces. Results appear on their card as a Pass, Merit or Distinction band.

Skills that match your roles

PLC, HMI and SCADA on Siemens, panel and electrical work, maintenance, and industrial AI. Candidates choose to be in the pool.

How it works, free

Post jobs, search the talent pool, contact candidates who opt in

Post jobs

Advertise on the EDWartens job board with a proper page for each job, reviewed by our team before it goes live.

Search the talent pool

Find candidates by skills, courses, certificates, job simulation results, region and availability. Candidates chose to be here.

Ask for a shortlist

Tell us the role and we will suggest candidates who agree to be introduced. Free, with no obligation.

Manage applicants

Track applicants through shortlist, interview and offer, and keep private notes.

Recruitment agencies are welcome

Agencies post and search free, like any employer. Agency jobs are labelled Agency on the job board so candidates know who they are applying through.

How it works

From sign-up to hello in four steps

  1. 1. Register

Create an account with your work email. Add your Companies House number if you have one.

  2. 2. We verify

Our team checks your company, usually within one working day.

  3. 3. Post or search

Submit jobs for review, or search the pool and send a contact request.

  4. 4. Candidate decides

A candidate applies or accepts. Only then do you see their contact details.

What you see

Evidence, not a name

A pool card shows what a candidate has done on EDWartens and what they chose to tell you. It is built from things we measured or issued, so you are not asked to take a CV on trust.

  • Skills the candidate listed, and courses they completed
  • Certificates we issued, each with a verification link
  • Job simulation results, as a Pass, Merit or Distinction band
  • Broad UK region, availability and what they are open to
  • Name, email and phone only after they apply or accept

Fair and lawful

The rules we built in

Fair search

No filter or sort on age, sex, race, nationality, disability, religion, photo or name. Our adverts checker flags wording that could discriminate under the Equality Act 2010.

Data rules

Candidates opt in, and withdraw any time. When you receive their details you become the UK GDPR controller of them. Records of introductions are kept for 12 months.

No fees, ever

We act as an employment agency under the 2003 Regulations: candidates are never charged, and no introduction depends on buying a course.

What we do not do

  • We do not guarantee candidates, interviews or hires.
  • We do not check right to work. You must, before anyone starts.
  • We do not sponsor visas, and we do not imply that we do. Any sponsorship in an advert is the employer's own statement.
  • We do not rank people by age, gender, nationality or any score from a model.

Questions

Employer FAQ

Is it really free?
Yes. There is no fee to register, post jobs, search the talent pool, ask for a shortlist or hire someone. There are no placement or introduction fees, and no subscription. You never have to buy training from us.
Are recruitment agencies welcome?
Yes. Agencies can register, post jobs and search the pool like any employer. Agency jobs are labelled Agency on the job board so candidates know who they are applying through. The same free terms apply, and candidates are never charged.
What do you get out of it?
EDWartens is a training company. We want our learners to find work, and a free hiring service helps. We never take money from candidates. Separately, we sell training courses; you can use the employer service without ever buying one.
Do candidates pay anything?
Never. Candidates are not charged to be found, shortlisted or introduced, and being in the talent pool is not linked to buying any course. This is a legal requirement for employment agencies in the UK, and we follow it.
Can I see candidates' names and contact details?
Not at first. You see a card with skills, courses, certificates and results and a broad UK region. You see a name only if the candidate chose to be named and your company is verified. Email and phone are shared only when the candidate applies to your job or accepts your request to contact them.
Can I filter by age, gender or nationality?
No. The pool has no filter or sort on age, sex, race, nationality, disability, religion, photo or name, because that would risk breaking the Equality Act 2010. We also warn you about wording in adverts that could discriminate.
Do you check right to work?
No. You must check that anyone you hire has the right to work in the UK before they start. A statement on a profile is not a check.
Can you sponsor visas for my hires?
No. EDWartens does not sponsor visas. If your advert says you may sponsor a visa, you state that yourself and it must be true under your own sponsor licence.
Do you guarantee candidates or hires?
No. We cannot promise applicants, a number of candidates, a time or a hire. We can only promise that the candidates in the pool chose to be there, and that the certificates and results on a card were issued by us.
How long does verification take?
Usually one working day. Until then you can set up your profile and draft jobs. Each job is reviewed by our team before it goes live.
What happens to candidate data I receive?
When a candidate applies or accepts your request you become the controller of the details they share. Our terms set out what UK GDPR expects of you, including using the data only for the role, keeping it secure and deleting it when you no longer need it.
