Free course certificates
Free courses with certificates: learn free, prove it for £19
Are there free courses with certificates? The learning is free: lessons, quizzes and the final exam in 199 courses. The certificate is not free. It is optional, costs £19 including VAT, and is issued when you pass a final exam, with a number and QR code employers can check.
Our paid courses
The certificates from our two courses
Both carry a unique number and a QR code that employers can check. These are real samples, drawn by the same code that draws yours.

Free and paid
What is free, and what costs £19
Some providers give a free certificate of completion. Ours is paid, so here is exactly what costs money. If you only want to learn, you never pay.
| What you get | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Video lessons and notes | Free | Every free course, with no card needed. |
| A quiz after each module | Free | Check yourself as you go. |
| The final exam | Free | 15 questions, 60% to pass, 3 attempts, then a 24-hour wait before a fresh paper. |
| Progress tracking in a free account | Free | You can read any course page without an account. |
| Certificate of completion | £19 including VAT, per course | Optional. Issued when you pass the final exam. You can pay before or after. |
| Checking a certificate | Free for anyone | An employer enters the number or scans the QR code at edwartens.co.uk/verify. |
Verification
How an employer checks a certificate
Every certificate has its own number and a QR code. Scanning the code, or entering the number on the verification page, shows the record we hold: the learner, the course and the date.
- Verification is free for anyone and needs no account.
- It confirms that EDWartens UK issued the certificate and that the learner passed the final exam.
- It does not confirm any outside accreditation, because there is none: see the section below on what the certificate is not.
How it works
Four steps
1. Start a free course
2. Learn and practise
3. Pass the final
4. Get it for £19
Plainly
What it is, and what it is not
We would rather you know exactly what you are buying.
- It is proof that you completed a free online course and passed its final exam.
- It is not a regulated or accredited qualification, and it carries no academic credit.
- It is not issued or endorsed by any software vendor named in a course.
- It does not guarantee a job or an interview. It is evidence you can show.
