What you practise
  • Build ladder, SFC and structured text programs
  • Go online and watch power flow through each rung
  • Force inputs and outputs and see the machine respond

Job support

Support that carries on after the lessons

Learning the skill is half of it. The portal helps with the other half: where the jobs are and how to apply.

  • Job-ready programme13 modules on UK recruitment, your CV, applications, interviews and your first 90 days.
  • Weekly job linksPicked by our team and sent to your portal each week, with a notification.
  • Job board and alertsReal UK adverts, refreshed daily, with alerts for the roles you want.
  • Application trackerEvery application, date and next step in one place.

Also included: a one-to-one career session with our team, which you request from Help in your portal when you are ready, seven role-specific CV templates, interview preparation and a public engineer profile employers can find, if you opt in. We cannot promise an interview or a job, and we do not quote placement rates.

The 7 simulations that come with the Professional Module (Self-paced)

Each simulation is sold separately: the Premium edition (days 6 to 20, an engineer-reviewed capstone and a viva) is £53.99 including VAT. With this course you get Premium and its certificate for these roles at no extra charge. The companies are simulated; a simulation is training, not employment or a work placement.

Your certificate

Proof you can show an employer

A certificate of completion from Wartens Ltd, naming the Professional Module (Self-paced). CPD certificate worth 80 CPD credits, accredited by The CPD Group. It is issued when you have done all of these:

Questions

Questions people ask before enrolling

What is different from the live Professional Module?
The five live days are replaced by 44 recorded Siemens TIA Portal lessons from our YouTube channel, which you watch whenever you like. The Basic Engineering modules, Job-ready programme, project, final assessment, career support and job simulators are the same. There are no live classes, start dates or batches.
How long do I have?
You have 12 months of access from the day you pay. The lessons add up to about 19.5 hours of video, plus notes, quizzes, lab tasks, Basic Engineering and a project. Most people take a few months at a few hours a week.
Do I need PLC experience?
No. The course starts with how a PLC works and the first TIA Portal project. A little electrical or mechanical background helps, and you need to be comfortable using a Windows computer. The free TIA Portal courses are a low-risk way to check you enjoy it first.
What computer do I need?
A Windows PC or laptop that meets Siemens' requirements for TIA Portal (a recent processor, 16 GB of RAM or more and plenty of free disk space are recommended) and a reliable internet connection. Mac users need a Windows virtual machine or a Windows PC. The course has an installation guide for TIA Portal, PLCSIM and Factory I/O.
Will it get me a job?
We cannot promise that, and we do not quote placement rates. What you get is practical Siemens skills, a project to show, the Job-ready programme, weekly job links picked by our team, the job board with alerts and a tracker, a one-to-one career session you request from Help in your portal, seven CV templates and interview preparation. Your result depends on your background, location and effort.
Can I ask questions without a live class?
Yes. Every module has an AI tutor, and you can send a question to a human trainer from any module. Your project is marked by an engineer, who gives feedback if you need to change something.
How do I pass and get the certificate?
Pass the phase tests and the final theory assessment (80% or more), and have your practical project approved by an engineer (80% or more). The certificate of completion then issues itself, with a number and QR code employers can check at edwartens.co.uk/verify.
Is it CPD-accredited or a qualification?
You receive a certificate of completion from Wartens Ltd and a CPD certificate worth 80 CPD credits, accredited by The CPD Group. Neither is a regulated qualification such as City & Guilds or an HNC.
There is no physical PLC rig. Is that a problem?
It is a real limit. You write and test programs, HMI screens and SCADA projects on your own computer using PLCSIM, Factory I/O and the EDWartens Lab. You will not wire hardware or fault-find on a physical machine during the course. If hands-on rig time is essential for you, choose a provider that offers it.
How do I pay, and can my employer pay?
The course is £980 including VAT (£816.67 + VAT), paid in one payment by card; there is no deposit, and every lesson opens the day you pay. An employer can pay instead: ask us for a VAT invoice before you enrol.
What if I change my mind?
As a consumer you have 14 days to cancel after buying. The lessons open as soon as you pay, so if you cancel within 14 days and have not opened any lesson you get everything back, and once you open a lesson the right to cancel ends. The details are in our cancellations and refunds policy and the course terms.
