Professional Module (Self-paced) terms
These terms apply when you buy the Professional Module (Self-paced). They sit alongside our general terms and conditions; where the two differ for this course, these terms apply. Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.

1. Who we are
The course is provided by Wartens Ltd, trading as EDWartens UK, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15262249), registered office 8 Lyon Road, Milton Keynes MK1 1EX. VAT number GB 473020522. Contact us at info@wartens.com or +44 333 33 98 394.
2. What you buy
The Professional Module without its live days: a self-paced online course in the EDWartens UK student portal, with no live classes, batches or start dates. It has 109 lessons in 7 phases and includes:
- 44 recorded Siemens TIA Portal lessons on PLC programming, HMI and WinCC SCADA, each module with notes, a short quiz and a task in the EDWartens Lab;
- the Professional Module's Basic Engineering modules (9 topics);
- the Job-ready programme (13 short modules on the UK job market, your CV, applications and interviews);
- a test at the end of each phase, a final theory assessment and a practical project;
- the same seven job simulators as the Professional Module, with the Premium edition and its certificate, for the roles listed on the course page;
- one one-to-one career session (section 9);
- weekly job links, the UK job board with job alerts and an application tracker, and role-specific CV templates;
- the AI tutor and questions to a trainer from any module; and
- a certificate, when you qualify for it (section 8).
The Siemens TIA Portal lessons are on our own YouTube channel. Some Basic Engineering and career videos stream from their creators' channels. The study plan, notes, quizzes, tests, lab tasks, project and marking are ours. If a video is removed, we replace it with one that teaches the same thing.
What this course is not. It is independent of Siemens AG: Siemens does not provide or endorse it. Software licences are not included: the course guides you through installing TIA Portal, PLCSIM and Factory I/O on your own Windows computer, and you practise in the EDWartens Lab in your browser. There is no physical PLC rig. The course is not a regulated qualification.
3. Access
- Your access lasts 12 months from the day you pay. Every lesson is open from that day; phase tests are taken in order.
- Your account is for you alone. Sharing your sign-in, or copying course material for others, may lead to your access being suspended.
- When access ends you can still see your results and download any certificate you have earned.
- The job simulators included with your course follow the access terms shown with each simulation.
4. Price and payment
The course costs £980 including VAT (£816.67 + VAT), paid in full when you enrol. There is no deposit or instalment plan. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see your card details. An employer can pay instead: ask us for a VAT invoice before you enrol.
5. Your right to cancel
As a consumer you can cancel within 14 days from the day we confirm your booking by email, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Because the lessons are digital content that opens as soon as you pay, at checkout you ask us to give you access straight away and acknowledge what that means for this right:
- If you cancel within 14 days and have not opened any lesson, we refund everything you have paid.
- Once you have opened a lesson, your right to cancel the digital content ends, as you agreed at checkout.
- To cancel, use Help in your portal, email info@wartens.com, or use the model form on our cancellations and refunds page. We refund within 14 days of your request, to the card you paid with.
After the 14 days we do not normally refund, but this does not affect your rights if the course is not as described or we fail to provide what is included (section 11).
6. Extensions
If you need longer than 12 months, ask from Help in your portal. We tell you the options and the price before you pay anything.
7. Tests and the project
- Each phase test opens when you have completed that phase's lessons and passed the test before it. Limits on attempts and waiting times are shown on each test.
- The final theory assessment passes at 80% or more.
- Your practical project is marked against a published rubric and approved by an engineer; 80 out of 100 passes. A project that does not pass comes back with feedback on what to change.
- Your work must be your own. Work copied from someone else, or produced with AI tools without your own understanding of it, may be failed.
8. The certificate
When you have passed each phase test and the final theory assessment, and your project is approved, we issue a certificate of completion from Wartens Ltd naming the Professional Module (Self-paced), with a number and a QR code that links to its verification page. You also receive a CPD certificate worth 80 CPD credits, accredited by The CPD Group (activity 1019624). Neither is a regulated qualification, a Siemens certification or academic credit.
9. The career session and job support
Your course includes one one-to-one career session with our team, by video call, on your CV and how you apply and interview. Request it from Help in your student portal (choose “Career session”) at any point during your access; our team then contacts you to arrange a time. The weekly job links, job board, alerts, tracker and Job-ready programme help you prepare for applications. We do not promise a job, an interview or any level of pay.
10. Changes to the course
We keep the course up to date, so lessons, videos and tools may change during your access. We will not reduce what is included in section 2. If a change would make a real difference to you, we tell you first, and you may cancel for a refund for the access you have not used.
11. If something goes wrong
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the digital content must be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, and our services must be provided with reasonable care and skill. If they are not, tell us through our complaints procedure and we will put it right, or refund you where the law says we should.
12. Trademarks
Siemens, SIMATIC, TIA Portal and WinCC are trademarks of Siemens AG. Factory I/O is a trademark of Real Games. EDWartens is independent and not affiliated with them.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
