For partners

Free engineering learning for your learners

EDWartens UK offers free engineering courses, browser-based Lab practice, a skill check and a free UK job board to learners. Colleges, universities, training providers, Jobcentre partners and charities can point their learners to them at no cost. Send an enquiry and we will reply by email.

1. Who it is for

Groups that help people into engineering

  • Colleges and universities

Engineering and electrical departments and careers teams who want extra practice for students beyond timetabled lab hours.

  • Skills Bootcamp providers

Providers of engineering and technical bootcamps who want free self-study material and a UK job board to point learners to alongside their own delivery.

  • Jobcentre and SWAP partners

Work coaches and Sector-based Work Academy Programme (SWAP) partners who want free learning and a skill check to suggest to jobseekers interested in engineering.

  • Engineering charities

Charities and community groups who support young people, career changers, refugees or others into engineering work.

  • Forces resettlement services

Resettlement advisers who support service leavers. There is a separate page written for service leavers: see the ex-forces guide.

Service leavers have their own guide: from the forces to automation engineering.

2. What partners get free

Five free things to point learners to

  • Free courses

Self-paced engineering courses with quizzes and a final exam. An optional certificate is paid; the learning is not.

  • EDWartens Lab

Free simulators in the browser: PLC, panel wiring, motor control, process control and more. Nothing to install.

  • Skill checks

A timed check of engineering knowledge for each family of work. Free, and a learner can retake it after the waiting period.

  • A learner profile

A learner keeps their certificates, check results and job simulation results on one profile that they control.

  • The free job board

UK automation, controls, electrical and maintenance jobs, refreshed daily. Free for jobseekers. We never promise a job or an interview.

What we are not

EDWartens UK is not a Skills Bootcamp provider and does not hold adult skills funding. We run no funded programmes and we are not linked to any government body. Our free-course certificates are not regulated qualifications. A partner enquiry does not create any agreement, and nothing here promises a job, interview or placement.

3. How to start

Three steps

  1. Step 1

    Tell us about your group

Use the form below. Say who your learners are and what you would like them to do.

  2. Step 2

    We reply by email

We will ask anything we need and suggest which courses and Lab exercises fit your learners.

  3. Step 3

    Learners sign up themselves

Each learner creates their own free account. We do not need their personal details from you.

Questions

Partner questions

Does it cost partners anything?
No. The courses, the Lab, the skill check and the job board are free to use. The only paid items are optional, such as a verifiable certificate for a free course, and no learner has to buy anything.
Do you run Skills Bootcamps or funded courses?
No. EDWartens UK is not a Skills Bootcamp provider and does not hold adult skills funding. If you deliver funded provision, our free tools can be extra practice beside it. They do not replace what you deliver.
Can you promise our learners jobs?
No. We never promise a job, an interview or a placement. The job board lists real UK vacancies, and employers make their own decisions.
Do you need our learners' personal data?
No. Learners create their own accounts. We only keep the contact details you send in the enquiry, and use them to reply. See our privacy notice.
Are job simulations the same as employment?
No. A job simulation is practice, not employment. It is a set of tasks set in a simulated UK workplace, and it is marked by our system.
What does a skill check show?
It shows how a learner did on a timed set of questions and one written scenario for a family of engineering work. It is not a regulated qualification. How it works is set out on our page about how we check skills.

Checked 31 October 2026. Read how we check engineers' skills for the skill check in full.
