Questions

Everything people ask

What is a job simulation?
A job simulation is a realistic training project at a simulated company. You get the emails, tickets and project documents a junior engineer gets, do the work in your browser, and have every task checked. Hands-on tickets are finished in EDWartens Lab and uploaded. It is not a real job, and it is free to start.
Is a job simulation a real job, an internship or work experience?
No. It is a training project at a simulated company. It is not employment, an internship, a work placement or a job offer, and no employer is involved.
Is it really free to start?
Yes. Days 1 to 5 are free: the tickets, the documents, checking and model answers. The certificate (£14.99) and Premium (£53.99) are optional. Both prices include VAT.
How many hours is it?
The free edition is days 1 to 5, self-paced, and each role page lists its tickets with minutes. The hours on your record are active hours you spent on EDWartens, not hours at a company.
What do I get at the end?
A record of your work with your scores by task and skill, and the dates. The optional certificate adds a graded score, a verification page and a QR code.
Can I put it on my CV?
Yes, as a job simulation with the simulated company named. List it under projects or training, not as employment.
Is the company real?
No. Every company, client and site is fictional and is always shown as a "simulated company". The people in the story are roles, such as Lead Engineer, not real people.
Is the certificate an accredited qualification?
No. It is a certificate of a training project, issued by WARTENS LTD. It is not an accredited or regulated qualification, and it does not lead to an ECS card, a licence or a registration. You can check any certificate on its verification page or by scanning its QR code.
How is a job simulation different from a course?
A course teaches a subject. A job simulation gives you a project to deliver, with documents, a deadline and a lead who wants an answer. Many roles link the free courses that prepare you.
Does the free edition expire?
No. It is self-paced. A day opens when you hand in the previous day's tickets.
What is in Premium?
Days 1 to 20: change requests, site work and faults, a handover, a capstone reviewed by an engineer and an AI viva. The certificate is included. If you have already paid for the certificate, you pay the difference (£39.00).
How do I check a certificate?
Open the verification page printed on it, or scan its QR code. It shows the holder, the role, the score band and the date.
Will it help me get a job?
It shows you can do the work and gives you something specific to talk about. We do not promise a job, and a simulation does not replace a qualification.
Which devices does it work on?
Any modern browser, on a laptop or a phone. Hands-on tasks in EDWartens Lab are easiest on a laptop.
Can I get a refund?
Because the certificate and Premium are digital services supplied straight away, you agree at checkout that the 14-day right to cancel ends once they are supplied. Our refund policy covers faults and anything else.
Will my school or university accept it as work experience?
That is for them to decide. It is not a placement, so many schools and universities will not count it as work experience. You can still use it as evidence of interest and skills in a personal statement or application. Ask your school or course first.
