Modern Slavery Statement

Voluntary statement from Wartens Ltd (trading as EDWartens UK) regarding modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.

Statement period: 2026 · Applicable to Wartens Ltd (Companies House registration 15262249) and all trading names including EDWartens UK.

Our commitment

Wartens Ltd is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking in any part of our operations or supply chains.

This statement is made on a voluntary basis. Wartens Ltd is below the £36 million annual turnover threshold that triggers a mandatory disclosure under section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015; we publish this statement as a matter of good practice and to give our clients, learners, partners, and employees visibility into the controls we operate.

Our business

Wartens Ltd is a UK-based industrial automation and engineering training group. Our training division, EDWartens UK, delivers CPD Accredited PLC, SCADA, HMI, and industrial AI programmes from our training centre at 8 Lyon Road, Milton Keynes, MK1 1EX. We work with learners, employers, industry partners, and suppliers across the United Kingdom and continental Europe.

Our people

We recruit and employ our instructional and operational staff directly under UK employment contracts that comply with the National Minimum Wage, working time, and health and safety regulations. Right-to-work checks are performed on every hire. All staff have access to a confidential grievance process.

Our supply chain

Our supply chain is short and predominantly UK- and EU-based. It consists primarily of: industrial hardware suppliers (Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Phoenix Contact and their authorised distributors), IT and cloud service providers, printing and marketing services, cleaning and facilities contractors for our Milton Keynes training centre, and professional services (accounting, legal, insurance). All suppliers are based in jurisdictions with established labour protections.

Due diligence

We select suppliers that operate to recognised industry and employment standards. For suppliers of scale (over £10,000 annual spend), we request confirmation that they operate in compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 where applicable. We reserve the right to terminate any supplier relationship where there is credible evidence of modern slavery or human trafficking practices.

Training and awareness

Line managers receive briefing material on recognising indicators of modern slavery and the steps to take if any concerns arise. We encourage all staff and contractors to raise concerns through our whistleblowing route without fear of retaliation.

Reporting a concern

If you believe modern slavery is occurring within our business or supply chain, please contact us at info@wartens.com or by post to Wartens Ltd, 8 Lyon Road, Milton Keynes, MK1 1EX, United Kingdom. Alternatively, the Modern Slavery Helpline in the UK is 0800 0121 700.
