Job simulation certificate: is it worth it?

A job simulation certificate shows you finished a training project and how you scored. It does not prove you can do the job, and it is not a qualification. Ours costs £14.99 including VAT and is optional; days 1 to 5 are free. Other providers give free certificates, so judge by the work behind it.

Is it worth it?

What a certificate shows, and what counts for more

The honest answer depends on what you need it for. A certificate is a record. The work behind it is what you can talk about.

What a certificate shows

That you finished a defined piece of training, the role, your score and band and the date. A public verification page lets anyone check it.

What it does not show

That you can do the job unsupervised, that you hold a qualification, or that an employer has taken you on. It leads to no ECS card, licence or registration.

What counts for more

In our view, a specific piece of work you can explain: a checked isolation certificate, a cable schedule, a close-out note. We do not speak for recruiters, so ask the employer what they look for.

Forage and Springpod give a free certificate on completion (checked 24 October 2026). If a free certificate is all you need, use them. We charge £14.99 because the certificate is graded from checked work and comes with a public verification page and QR code.

What it looks like

A certificate anyone can check

The real certificate carries your name, the role, your score and band, the date, a certificate number and a QR code that opens a public verification page. This is a drawn sample, not a real certificate.

Bands: Distinction from 85, Merit from 70, Pass from 60. The pass mark is 60 out of 100.

How it works

From free start to certificate

  1. Step 1

    Do the free days

Hand in each ticket. The model answer shows once you have tried.

  2. Step 2

    See your result

Your score and band show on your progress page as you go.

  3. Step 3

Add the certificate if you want it

Pay once. The certificate and its verification page are made for you when you pass.

  4. Step 4

    Share it

Add it to LinkedIn as a certification, or send the verification link. Describe it as a job simulation, not as employment.

What the certificate is not

It is not an accredited or regulated qualification, it is not proof of employment, and it does not lead to an ECS card, a licence or a registration. List it as a job simulation. We do not promise a job.

A job simulation is a realistic training project at a simulated company. It is not employment, an internship or a work placement, and it is not a job offer. Hours are active hours the learner logged on EDWartens UK.

On your CV

How to describe a job simulation certificate

Where to put it

Under projects, training or certifications, not under employment.

How to word it

"Maintenance Electrical Engineer job simulation, Kelbridge Foods (simulated company), EDWartens UK, 2026. Reviewed an isolation certificate, closed a work order, found a hidden starter fault." Name the role, the simulated company and two things you did.

What to say at interview

Pick one decision, such as refusing to bypass a safety function, and explain your reasoning. That shows more than the certificate.

Questions

Quick answers

Is a job simulation certificate worth it?
It depends on what you need it for. It is worth £14.99 if you want a graded, verifiable record to link on LinkedIn or a CV. It is not worth it if you only need to show you tried a role: the free days give you the checked work and a record anyway. It is never a substitute for a qualification.
Is the certificate free?
No. The job simulation is free. The certificate is an optional extra at £14.99 including VAT.
Is it an accredited qualification?
No. It is a certificate of a training project, issued by WARTENS LTD. It is not accredited or regulated, it is not a qualification, and it does not lead to an ECS card, a licence or a registration.
What is on the certificate?
Your name, the role, your score and band, the date, a certificate number and a QR code. The "simulated company" wording and the disclaimer are printed on it.
How is the score worked out?
Every task is checked and weighted. The pass mark is 60 out of 100. Bands: Distinction from 85, Merit from 70, Pass from 60. You get a certificate once you pass.
Can an employer check it?
Yes. The verification page and the QR code show the holder, the role, the band and the date. Anyone can open it without an account.
I buy Premium later. Do I lose what I paid?
No. What you paid for that simulation's certificate is credited against Premium, which includes the certificate. You pay £39.00 more.
Can I get a refund?
You agree at checkout that you want the certificate supplied straight away, and that the 14-day right to cancel ends once it is supplied. Our refund policy covers faults and anything else.
Do Forage or Springpod certificates cost anything?
No. Both give a free certificate on completion (checked 24 October 2026). Ours is £14.99.
How do I describe it on a CV?
As a job simulation, under projects or training, with the simulated company named. Do not describe it as employment, an internship or a placement.
Can I add it to LinkedIn?
Yes. Add it as a certification and link the verification page. Describe it as a job simulation.
