Free PLC and SCADA course online with certificate
The combined path: learn a PLC first, then the SCADA that watches it. Siemens, Allen-Bradley and CODESYS controllers, then Ignition, WinCC, InTouch, Citect and FactoryTalk SCADA, with a water plant project and the SQL used for plant reports.
Why learn it
Why PLC and SCADA
On many sites one engineer looks after both the PLC logic and the SCADA screens that show it. This path teaches the two together.

Questions
PLC and SCADA: common questions
Should I learn PLC or SCADA first?
PLC first. A SCADA screen only shows tags that a controller produces, so the logic is the part to understand before you draw the screens.
Which SCADA software is free to practise on?
Ignition has a free trial, and the other courses use vendor trials or demo modes. Each course page names the software and what runs without a licence.
Is there a free PLC and SCADA course online with a certificate?
Yes. All the courses here are free and complete. The EDWartens certificate is optional, paid and verifiable by code, and it is not a Siemens, Rockwell or Inductive Automation credential.
Do I need a real PLC to connect to the SCADA?
No. The courses connect SCADA to simulators and software PLCs, which behave like the real communication link.
How is this different from the PLC and SCADA hubs?
Those hubs list every course on one subject. This page is a single route through both, in the order that makes the second half easier.
