Outcome
What you will be able to do
Map the 1Z0-1122-26 topic areas to a study plan; explain AI, ML, DL and generative AI and the learning types; compute and read model metrics; explain neurons, gradient descent, CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs and transformers; explain tokens, embeddings and decoding settings and choose between prompting, RAG and fine-tuning; match tasks to OCI Language, Speech, Vision, Document Understanding, OCI Data Science and OCI Generative AI; describe dedicated AI clusters, agents, AI Vector Search and Select AI; review a use case against responsible AI requirements; and sit Oracle's exam with a method for scenario questions.
- Map your study to Oracle's 1Z0-1122-26 topic areas and book the exam on Oracle MyLearn
- Tell supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning apart and compute precision, recall and RMSE
- Explain neurons, activation functions, gradient descent, CNNs, RNNs and LSTMs with worked numbers
- Explain tokens, embeddings, transformers and temperature, and choose between prompting, RAG and fine-tuning
- Match a task to OCI Language, Speech, Vision, Document Understanding or OCI Data Science
- Describe OCI Generative AI: on-demand models, dedicated AI clusters, T-Few and LoRA, and agents
- Rank rows with AI Vector Search, pick HNSW or IVF, and describe Select AI
- Review an AI use case against trustworthy AI requirements and sit the exam with a method
Software
An OCI Free Tier account (Always Free resources plus a 30-day trial credit) for the console exercises; Oracle MyLearn for Oracle's free learning path and practice exam; a browser. Optional: an Always Free Autonomous Database for the SQL exercise. OCI Generative AI is offered in selected regions and is billed by use after the trial, so check before you start and delete what you do not need.
Hardware
A computer with a browser. No GPU is needed.

How it works
How this course works
- Watch the video lessonsOne module at a time, at your own pace.
- Take the module quizA short quiz at the end of each module shows what stuck.
- Keep your notesWrite in My notes beside each module and ask the trainer if you are stuck.
- Practise in the labOptionalTry a task from the module in the EDWartens Lab, in your browser.
- Sit the final examPass it once you have been through the modules.
- Certificate, if you want oneOptionalPaid, and only after you pass. Anyone can check it online.
EDWartens Lab
Practise this in the EDWartens Lab
See the exam concepts at work: read overfitting and metrics, write a prompt that gives exact output, make an assistant cite sources, and measure fairness between two groups.
Works alongside Oracle Cloud AI Foundations Exam Prep (1Z0-1122). The Lab is ai for industry practice in your browser: no install, no hardware, free to use. Sign in as a learner and it opens with your account.

Why practise in a lab
Technical work is judged on what you can do: wiring, commissioning, finding a fault. Doing a task yourself teaches more than watching it a second time, and a lab lets you try it safely before you meet real equipment. It does not replace working on real hardware.
- Practise safely, so a mistake costs nothing.
- The lab checks your work like a site test, so you know when it is right.
- Free, in your browser, with nothing to install.
Certificate
An optional certificate when you pass
Learning is free. Pass the final exam and you can have a certificate for £19, including VAT, with a number employers can check online. It records that you completed a free online course; it is not a regulated qualification or a CPD certificate.
- Your name, the course, its study time and your final exam score
- A unique certificate number and a QR code to its verification page
- Issued by Wartens Ltd; add it to your LinkedIn profile in one click
- Pay now or after you pass: it is issued the moment you pass the final
